Toshiba HD-DVD laptop hits Japan in May

Toshiba plans to put on sale in Japan in May its first laptop computer with a built-in HD-DVD drive, the company said today. The Qosmio G30 is expected to be the first computer available from any vendor with an HD-DVD drive.

Next Toyota Prius to hit 113 miles per gallon!

Apparently the next Toyota Prius will get an insane 113 mpg. It’s going to use lithium batteries instead of nickel and will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in under 10 seconds, compared to 11 for the current model.

Asus unveils Dolby-driven laptops

Asus this week lauded its latest laptops’ successful attempt to win the thumbs-up from audio specialist Dolby. Announcing two new machines, Asus said one comes with the Dolby Home Theater stamp of approval, while the other ships with “gameplay transforming” Dolby Digital Live technology.

Kanguru’s 64GB King Kong Flash Drive

Kanguru has dropped the bomb on the USB 2.0 flash drive market with a whopping 64 GB of storage space on a flash drive about the size of a pack of gum. The drive is called the Kanguru Flash Drive Max.

First 300Mbps WiFi Products To Be Shipped

Dubbed the RangeMax Next series and supposedly already shipping, the NetGear’s 802.11n offering claims to deliver speed up to 300Mbps, which we believe is not possible to achieve in real world performances. But it’s still pretty amazing, considering that it’s wireless and it’s actually faster than 100Mbps wired Ethernet.
